
Meltem Ökten, a graduate of Marmara University’s Physical Education program, completed a one-year diploma program at New York University and has also completed various certification programs related to early childhood education approaches. Since 1985, she has worked in all levels of education, from teaching to school administration. After gaining teaching experience in New York (USA) and Brisbane (Australia) from 1991 to 1997, she began her career at Açı Schools in 2000 as a teacher.
In 2001, she assumed the role of school principal at Açı Primary School and Preschool. From 2009 to 2023, Meltem Ökten served as the Açı Preschool Coordinator. She has been involved in the creation of the Açı Preschool education program, implementation and development projects, and the establishment and structuring of the teacher training program.
Meltem Ökten is a member of the Board of Trustees for BİDEV (Foundation for Basketball Support) and is also a writer of children’s books.
Since August 2023, she has been continuing her work as the Board of Directors’ Advisor at Açı Schools.
