Yasemin Aykan, a 2017 graduate of Açı High School, graduated with honors from Barnard College, Columbia University, where she studied History and Art History. Her senior thesis was on the “Influence of Turquerie in Interior Architecture and Decorative Arts in 18th Century France.”
Yasemin is currently continuing her education at Columbia University (Graduate School of Arts and Sciences), pursuing a Master’s degree in Art History, focusing on 18th-19th century European Art. In addition to her academic work, she is actively involved in the student council, working to improve the educational experiences of master’s and doctoral students.
In the future, Yasemin aims to continue her academic research while also focusing on preserving cultural heritage in Turkey and developing Art History programs in universities. We wish our dear graduate, Yasemin Aykan, continued success in her academic and professional journey!
