Açı Schools Guidance Department continues to work with a comprehensive approach to support all stakeholders in the “development” and “learning” processes of our students. Our guidance programs support the individual development of our students, prepare them for lifelong success and aim to maximize the potential of each student.

Our schools’ guidance programs aim to contribute to the social, emotional, academic and career development of our students, taking into account their individual differences and age-appropriate development needs. In this process, the main priorities include identifying students’ strengths and areas of development, improving their social and emotional competencies, finding solutions for their individual needs and strengthening family-school-student cooperation.

PRESCHOOL

The preschool period is the time when the child’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development progresses at the fastest pace. During this period, our guidance services aim to support the individual differences of our students and closely follow the developmental process of all students.

Our preschool guidance program is implemented through observations, individual interviews, family-teacher cooperation and group activities in accordance with the needs of the students. In this context the following actions are carried out.:

  • Recognizing the student: In-class and out-of-class observations are conducted to discover students’ individual differences and interests.
  • Developmental Programs: Storytelling, drama, group games, special weeks and problem solving activities are carried out to develop social and emotional skills.
  • Parent Participation: Informative texts about children’s developmental needs and age-specific approaches are prepared and seminars are organized.

These activities are planned to reveal our students’ potential and transform the preschool period into an enjoyable and productive learning process.

PRIMARY SCHOOL

Our guidance program in primary school is designed to support students’ cognitive, social and emotional development. Our aim is to guide our students to know themselves, discover their strengths and have a positive school experience.

Activities carried out help studnets with

  • Supporting school adaptation processes
  • Developing positive self-perception and self-confidence
  • Gaining the ability to recognize and express emotions
  • Developing problem solving, communication and responsibility awareness
  • Strengthening positive friendships and social skills

Cooperation with Parents:

  • Parent interviews and update meetings are held
  • Age-appropriate developmental seminars are offered
  • Families are informed about their children’s developmental processes via update meetings.

In this process, we aim to equip our students with skills they can use throughout their lives.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Middle school is a time of rapid physical, social and emotional changes for our students. Our guidance program aims at helping our students adapt to these changes and supporting their academic success.

Areas of Focus:

  • Adolescent changes and management of social relationships
  • Identity formation and individualization processes
  • Time management, focusing and organizational skills
  • Strategies for coping with performance anxiety
  • Sharing information and suggesting roadmaps on bullying

We also support our parents with the difficulties they can face during this period via seminars and training sessions.

HIGH SCHOOL

Our high school guidance program supports our students socially, emotionally and academically, with an emphasis on career planning .

Our goals are:

  • Helping our students Improve their academic performance and time management skills
  • Providing individual counseling on career planning and career choice
  • Guiding local and international university application processes
  • Helping our students develop their social skills and gaining life skills
  • Conducting preventive studies on age development characteristics
  • Implementing a lesson plan appropriate to developmental needs

During the high school preparation period (8th grade), social, emotional and academic preparation activities are carried out in order to help our students to adapt to high school life. Preventive studies on age developmental characteristics are carried out and guidance lesson plans are implemented in accordance with students’ developmental needs. The areas covered are; changes seen during adolescence, social relationship and communication management, coping with bullying , exploration of individual resources in coping with anxiety, respect for differences, and developing executive function skills such as planning and organization.
