While preparing our students academically and socially for their university education, we address the YKS process with a comprehensive program. Intensifying in 12th grade, studies continue with mock exams, update meetings and counseling support. We support our students with career introductions and university campus visits.
Preparing our students academically and socially for their university education is one of the important goals of our program. As an institution which is fully aware of Turkey’s university entrance requirements, our responsibility extends not only to preparing students for university but also to preparing them for the national university entrance exams.
In Turkey, the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), which all students aiming to attend university must take, is considered not just as a single test result but as both a process and an outcome. Therefore, the intensive preparation process is supported by teaching programs that equip students with necessary skills and knowledge the university entrance exams.
In this context:
* Preparation begins technically in 11th grade with partial preparation activities integrated into each grade’s curriculum.
* 12th-grade preparation is the most intensive one, starting in August and continuing without interruption until the exam date in June.
* Students participate in “National Practice Exams” on weekends throughout the year.
* University and department promotion activities and campus visits are organized to help students identify their goals and make informed decisions.
During the university preparation process, students receive counseling support across a wide range of areas, including:
* Defining their goals and interests.
* Choosing universities and professions.
* Planning their individual study schedules.
* Preparing support programs.
* Providing guidance, tracking progress, and assisting with preference submissions.
Parents are regularly informed about practice test results and scholarship applications throughout the process. They are actively involved in the process to support their child’s development. The university preparation process is overseen by our university advisor: Sevgül Özgür Tunçel (sevgul.tuncel@acischools.k12.tr).
While preparing our students for universities abroad, we offer guidance in line with their individual goals and abilities. Preparation for leading universities in the US, UK, Canada and Europe begins in the 9th grade with the AP program and one-to-one interviews and introductions.
Around the world, students are offered numerous options to pursue their university education. Our goal is to guide Açı students toward the right programs based on their individual interests, talents, and goals. For students aiming to study abroad, guidance is tailored to their unique abilities and skills through presentations, counseling sessions, university introductions, and one-on-one consultations. Our students are primarily guided toward universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Europe that offer English-language education and are pioneers in their respective fields.
Preparation for studying at international universities begins with parent and student presentations in 9th grade. In 10th grade, detailed information about area selection, course choices, and preferences is provided during counseling sessions. These activities are overseen by university advisors. One-on-one meetings between parents, students, and advisors primarily begin in 11th grade.
In addition to the Ministry of National Education’s curriculum, our school offers the AP (Advanced Placement) curriculum for students who wish to extend their academic development.
AP courses begin in August for specific subjects.
The counseling process is led by our university advisors:
