Sports programs in Açı Schools are founded on the idea that physical development is a vital pillar for healthy mental development capable of achieving its purpose. Standing not only as a developmental field, but also as a cultural domain; sports and sportsmanship should be an important engagement in the school and personal life of every student, and the richness and acquisitions of this culture should provide the opportunity for our students to form the happiest memories and shared moments of their lives.
Pre-school
Pre-school Movement Program provides an opportunity for all our students to participate regularly in physical activities. Our program consists of 6 major activities, namely Gymnastics, Games, Dance, Health, Social Skills and Lifelong Physical Activity and inherently encourages open air activities as a natural part of the program. Many social skills such as building self-confidence, relationships with their peers and with adults, leadership are supported with physical activities inherent to the Movement Program.
Primary School
Our primary school sports objectives can be listed as follows: to love to exercise and acquire the basic sports culture; bringing sports outfits to the classes and doing stretching movements before and after the exercises; to teach them there is both winning and losing inherent in sports; and to encourage them to exercise all branches of sports that are taught in the class and provide them an opportunity to exercise their skills in the related fields of sports.
Educational attainments are planned vertically from 1st to 4th grades considering the development stages of students.
Some of the attainments in our classes are; skill-coordination, skipping rope, athleticism, basketball, gymnastics, handball and volleyball.
Secondary School
Secondary school physical education classes consist of athleticism, handball, basketball, gymnastics, football, badminton, climbing and volleyball. Healthy living and fitness tests made during the classes to measure physiological development of students, the body composition values, physical-motor features. The development trends of these properties are checked periodically. Secondary School physical education classes aim to make students like exercising and encourage them to accept sports a part of their daily lives both as a spectator and a player. We aim to raise our students as individuals who like sports culture and who enjoy taking part in sports activities. 7th grade and high school prep students continue to attend practices if they are on a team. The students who are not on the team are oriented to choose an elective field (archery, outdoor sports, billiards, pilates, fitness-spinning, badminton, football) and have the chance to develop their technical skills in the chosen field for a year.
High School
In Açı High School, they get training in a field they choose as they wish. The students who wish are guided towards the local, foreign, private or official sports events and competitions of the corresponding field according to their performance and motivation. Courses include: basketball, volleyball, wing chun, outdoor sports, billiards, fitness-spinning, badminton, triathlon, pilates and football.
High school basketball and volleyball teams participate in the interschool tournaments and competitions organized by the Federation and represent Açı schools.
